My Reddit post got nuked for quoting a public press release from the city of Austin
Last Tuesday I quoted a city press release about water restrictions in an Austin sub and the mods pulled it for 'misinformation' because I didn't find the official source link. The exact same text was on the city's own .gov page but they didn't even check before banning me for 30 days. How do you fight moderation that punishes you for being UNDER-informed about your own sources?

Can't believe they'd delete a direct quote from the city's own website.

The 312 area code thing? I ran into a similar mess last year with our HOA board. They posted the official bylaws on the member portal, then quietly swapped out a section about parking fines without telling anyone. I had screenshots from the previous version (thank goodness) because I always capture those things before they get edited. When I pointed it out at the meeting, the board president tried to brush it off as a "formatting update." I just held up my phone with the date-stamped screenshot and said, "Formatting doesn't delete numbers, Jim." They restored the original text by the next week. So yeah, save copies of everything you can - especially if it's from a .gov site where they think they can rewrite history on a whim.
