My shop got flagged 3 times for a word we never even used
Ran a small online store from Boise for 6 years, never had an issue. Last month our product listing got pulled for hate speech. The flagged term wasn't even in our text, it was in a customer review that auto-imported. Took 11 days and 4 support tickets to get them to actually read the file and admit the mistake. Meanwhile our traffic dropped about 40 percent while we waited. Has anyone else had moderation bots hit them for user-generated content they don't control?
Man, I feel your pain. Same thing happened to me two years back. A review got flagged for something and it took forever to get them to even look at the actual page.
My advice is to put a filter on your import process. Set it so any review with certain words goes to a manual approval queue before it ever hits your site. It saves you the headache of fighting their system later. Also, screenshot everything the second you get the flag. Dates, times, the whole listing. That way when you call, you can just send them proof without waiting for them to dig around.
Their bots are dumb and they don't care about your business. You gotta build your own guardrails so their mistakes don't tank your traffic again.
Take @shane_clark's filter idea and run with it, but also set up a daily check that screenshots your whole product page and any recent reviews. Build a simple spreadsheet tracking every flag, the date, and what you sent to support, so you have a paper trail ready to go the second something pops. That way when their bot screws up again, you can throw your evidence at them on the first call instead of waiting 11 days for them to bother looking.
