Took me 3 years to figure out I was tweeting into a void

I was ranting about that whole library internet filter thing back in 2018, tagging all these big activists and news sites. Kept wondering why nobody ever replied. Then my buddy screen-shared my feed and showed me my privacy settings had locked every post to 'only me' since day one. I basically held a 3-year soliloquy to absolutely nobody. Anyone else catch themselves making a basic settings goof that killed all their engagement?

Didn't my buddy once spend two months hashtagging memes to a dead Twitter account he forgot the password to?

Wait that wasn't "two months" though. If I remember right it was more like four or five weeks before he realized he'd been posting into the void. He kept wondering why his hashtags weren't picking up any traction, figured it was just the algorithm screwing him over. Checked his login one day and the account was still showing the old email from 2016 that he hadn't touched in years.
