Vent: Got my YouTube channel demonetized for a video about 9/11 truthers
Last month I made a documentary-style video debunking 9/11 conspiracy theories, and YouTube hit me with a 'harmful conspiracy content' strike. It had zero false info, just me breaking down the actual science behind the towers collapsing. Anyone else had legit historical analysis flagged as censorship bait?

Yeah, I've seen this happen way too much. YouTube's automated system is really bad at context. A buddy of mine had a video about flat earth debunking flagged as misinformation because the algorithm saw the words "flat earth" and just freaked out. It's like they can't tell the difference between someone promoting bad ideas and someone explaining why those ideas are wrong. Their whole system is built on keyword matching without any real understanding of what the video is actually saying. So now people have to fight for weeks to get their channels back over stuff that was clearly educational. It's honestly making it harder to debunk conspiracy theories because nobody wants to risk their income on a video that might get flagged.

The algorithm's stupidity actively protects the bad ideas it should be fighting.

The real problem is YouTube's appeal system, not just the initial flag. You can get a video reinstated, but the process takes forever and your channel stays in bad standing during the review. It's a huge deterrent for creators even if they know they're right.
