Warning: I thought the 'shadowbanning' talk on social media was just paranoid until my own posts stopped showing up in hashtags.

I posted a thread about a local protest in Phoenix last month, and my analytics showed zero impressions from search or tags for a week, while my other posts were fine. Has anyone else had a specific post get quietly throttled like that?

Couldn't it just be a weird algorithm glitch? My friend's post about a concert did the same thing, then went back to normal views a few days later.

A community garden fundraiser getting zero reach for a week... that's not a glitch, that's a choice. My cousin's post about a local food drive got the same treatment last month. It sat there with like 12 views from his direct followers for days. The concert post going back to normal just proves the system can tell the difference and picks what to hide. They don't want certain kinds of people organizing, even for something totally harmless like a garden.

So what was the protest about? My buddy had this happen with a post sharing a fundraiser for a community garden. His account was fine, but that one post got zero reach from tags for over a week. He had to delete it and repost the info in a new thread to get it seen. It felt very targeted.

My buddy Mike had the exact same thing happen with a post about a local pet adoption drive last spring. It just sat there with zero tag reach for 10 days while his regular posts were fine. He ended up DMing people the link directly to get any traction. @the_piper I don't think it's a glitch when the concert post snapped right back to normal, that shows the system works when it wants to. It really does feel targeted when something completely harmless like a community garden gets buried like that for no reason.
