Am I the only one who thinks the Chiang Mai nomad scene is kinda overrated?
Got stuck there for a month last year during rainy season, and the constant power cuts in my Old City apartment killed my workflow. Everyone talks about the cafes, but finding a spot with stable wifi after 3 PM was a real struggle. Has anyone found a better base in Thailand that's not just following the crowd?

Honestly, sounds like you just had some bad luck with your apartment and timing.

Right? My last place had a broken AC all summer.

Yeah, bad luck is a huge part of it. My old building's management just stopped caring, so every little thing became a fight. You can do all the research and still get stuck with a place that falls apart. It really does feel like timing, like you just rolled the dice and lost.

Timing and dice rolling is a cop out. Bad luck is just an excuse for not doing enough research. You can spot a bad building if you really look at reviews and talk to current tenants. People blame luck when they don't want to admit they missed the warning signs.
