Back when being a digital nomad meant figuring things out as you went, not planning every stop with apps. I miss that chaos, lol.

Why would you miss spending half your day looking for a place to sleep or a cafe with wifi? That wasn't fun chaos, it was just stress. Apps cut out the useless busywork so you can actually focus on your work or seeing the place you're in. Getting lost and wasting time isn't some pure experience, it's just inefficient. I'll take being able to find a decent room and a strong coffee in five minutes over that any day. The romance of struggling with basics seems overrated.

Is it really that bad to have a few surprises? Getting lost can help you find cool places not on any app. Using tech for everything cuts out the random meets that make travel special. Apps save time, but they also make things too clean. Turning each trip into a set plan feels like a machine. Maybe we should not run from all hassle but mix quick fixes with real finding.

Yeah, calling it "the romance of struggling" is so spot on. I don't miss that stress either.

Remember when the biggest travel hack was just asking the guy at the newsstand for directions? My personal record was getting so lost in Lisbon I accidentally found a bakery that became my office for a week. Now I'd probably just stare at my phone until the battery died. I guess I miss the weird wins that came from the total fails.
