Digital nomad for 18 months and I finally ditched coworking spaces for libraries

I was sure the free wifi would be garbage but my local public library in Medellin has fiber optic speeds and nobody bothers me for ordering takeout at my desk - has anyone else found a hidden gem workspace you actually prefer over paid spots?

Ngl I just read a thread about how libraries in Buenos Aires have secret rooftop gardens and free coffee for members. Might have to scope that out for myself next time I'm down there.

The nap pods thing is wild but honestly I'm more curious about sage_moore37's mention of those Buenos Aires library rooftops. Do they actually let you work up there with your laptop or is it more of a lounge area for reading? I've been looking for outdoor workspace options that don't have the constant coffee shop chaos.

Read a blog where someone said libraries in Asia have nap pods now.

Yeah but honestly nap pods sound like a distraction more than anything. I mean you go to a library to read or study, not to catch a few Z's. It's like turning a quiet space into a weird sleepover spot. Plus if people start snoring or setting alarms on their phones it ruins the whole atmosphere for everyone else trying to focus. Keep sleeping at home, libraries are for books.
