Just found out my coworking space in Chiang Mai is shutting down next month

Walked in this morning and saw the eviction notice taped to the front door... 30 people here with nowhere to go. Anyone else ever have a spot just vanish on them mid-stay?

Oh dang, that sucks but is it really that big of a deal though? I mean coworking spots pop up and disappear all the time in Chiang Mai, you'll probably find another one down the street in like a day. Worst case you work from a coffee shop for a week, it's not the end of the world lol.

Wait, are we really acting like losing one of the few stable coworking spots in Nimman is no big deal? @annajenkins I get what you're saying but a lot of those places that pop up don't have proper internet or they're just someone's garage with a table and a router. You can't just bounce from coffee shop to coffee shop either because most of them kick you out after a couple hours or charge you for every refill. Smith.parker is right, the good ones with actual community and reliable power are harder to find than people think. Plus some of us have client calls and need a quiet room, not a noisy cafe with kids running around. It's not the end of the world but it's definitely a pain in the ass for anyone who actually relies on it for work.

gently, coworking spots don't just "pop up all the time" here like you think.
