Just realized my choice between Bali and Chiang Mai for a 3 month stay
I was stuck between a cheap villa in Canggu for $600 a month or a nicer apartment in Chiang Mai for $450. I picked Bali for the surf, but the constant scooter noise and unreliable internet made client calls a real headache. Anyone else faced a similar choice between vibe and work needs?

Totally get the Bali struggle but my Chiang Mai experience was the opposite. Found a quiet spot in Santitham with fiber internet for under $400, and the cafe scene was perfect for deep work. The mountain air and lack of scooter chaos just made it way easier to focus.

How do you even get any work done with that noise? I feel for you, that sounds rough. Gavin228 makes a good point about Chiang Mai being quiet for focus. I picked a place for the vibe once too and ended up moving after a month because the internet kept dropping. Sometimes the practical stuff just wins.
