Just realized using a $300 local SIM card plan in Bangkok for 6 months was way better than my old global roaming eSIM.
The local SIM gave me 5G speeds for video calls and cost 90% less, which made working from cafes actually possible without constant drops. What's your go-to for staying connected in new places?

That's just basic travel prep, not some big secret. People have been swapping SIMs for years.

Saw a tech blog last week saying eSIM adoption is finally taking off in Europe. My cousin just got back from Spain and said his phone picked up a local network automatically, no plastic card needed. It feels like the old SIM swap method is becoming the backup plan instead of the main move. Carriers are pushing these digital profiles hard because they're cheaper to manage.

Totally agree on local SIMs. Grabbed one in Tokyo last year and it was a game changer for maps and transit apps.
