My sister told me 'the constant moving is just glorified burnout' over coffee in Denver last week, and it stuck with me.

She's not a nomad, but her point about never letting roots form anywhere making it harder to do deep work or build real community hit different than the usual 'must be nice' comments, so what's your best counter to that argument?

Maybe she's right, but what if deep work looks different for some people?

Yeah, the "deep work looks different" part really hits home. I was just reading about how some people do their best thinking in busy cafes, not in a silent room. It's like the background noise helps them focus instead of hurting it. So maybe the whole idea of deep work needs a bigger box to fit in, you know? Not everyone's brain works the same way.

Read a blog post that argued some people build community across places, not just in one spot.

Honestly I used to be so sure you needed a home base, like one main group. But seeing how my friends from the gym, my old book club, and even a couple people I met online all sort of mix together changed my mind. It's less about having a single spot and more about the web of connections you make. That blog post is onto something, because my community feels spread out but still really strong. It's a different way of doing things, but it works.
