My 'work from the airport' hack actually saved a client project in Bangkok

Got a 4am 'site is down' email with a 9am deadline, but my hotel wifi was dead. I bought a $7 lounge pass for the business center, used their hardwired connection, and fixed it in 45 minutes. Anyone have a better backup plan for when your main spot's internet just quits?

My old boss in Chicago swore by a mobile hotspot from his local library. That thing saved us twice when the office network crashed. Your lounge pass move is solid though, sometimes you just need a real cable.

That library hotspot trick is a great backup plan! How did your boss even find out about that service? Was it something the library advertised, or did he have to ask around? Always curious how people discover those off the grid resources before a real crisis hits.

Wait, your hotel wifi was just dead? That's wild lol. @ray_williams, at least the library probably advertises their hotspot.

Libraries are low key the best free backup plan for work emergencies. They have the gear and it's usually reliable when you're in a pinch. More people should know about that option before their own wifi drops.
