Used to work from $200/month coworking spaces, now I just grab a bench at the park
I was paying like $15 a day for a desk in Bangkok but realized I was just sitting there scrolling. Now I tether off my phone and work from Lumphini Park for free, been doing it about 3 weeks. Anyone else ditch the expensive spots or am I just cheap?

Yeah, same here. Those lizard friends are pretty chill neighbors too.

A buddy of mine used to work from Lumphini all the time until one day he dozed off on a bench and woke up to a monitor lizard sniffing his laptop bag. He said he jumped up so fast he nearly knocked over his coffee, but the lizard just waddled off like it owned the place. After that he bought a power bank to sit closer to the lake, and he swears the lizards still give him the side-eye whenever he sets up there.

Oh wow, I gotta say I think working in Lumphini sounds more stressful than peaceful honestly... monitor lizards sniffing your stuff and giving you the evil eye would have me packing up in five minutes flat. I mean sure they're probably harmless but that's not the kind of coworker I want lurking around while I'm trying to focus on spreadsheets or whatever.

Lumphini’s a solid choice, I used to work from a bench near the playground there. Grab a portable battery pack if you haven't already, the park benches can be far from outlets. Also watch out for monitor lizards, they like to sleep under the same trees.
