Warning: My laptop almost died in a Chiang Mai cafe during a power cut
I was working from this little spot near the old city when the whole block lost electricity for over an hour. My battery was at 12% and I had a client call in 20 minutes. A local guy at the next table saw me panic and lent me his big power bank, no questions asked. Now I always carry two fully charged banks and check cafe reviews for backup generators. What's your go-to move for avoiding dead battery disasters in new places?

Oh man, that's the worst feeling. I got caught out like that once and now I literally scout the walls for outlets before I even order a coffee. My laptop charger stays in my bag at all times.

Ugh, my friend did that last week and his laptop died right as he was about to hit send on an email. I'm with you, @aaron854, it's a special kind of panic.

Actually find that low battery panic kind of focuses the mind. Forces you to write the important part fast and skip the fluff. Maybe we all need a hard deadline that plugs into the wall. My best work sometimes happens right before the screen goes black.
