Warning: That $600 coworking membership in Bali was a total waste of money

I spent 3 months working out of a popular coworking spot in Canggu last year, paying $200 a month for a desk. The wifi dropped every afternoon around 2 PM, the AC was barely working, and the place was packed with people on video calls at max volume. I lost $600 total before I gave up and started working from a quiet coffee shop down the street that had better internet for the price of a $3 latte. Has anyone else found that these coworking memberships are just overpriced hype?

Yeah but look, $200 a month isn't that bad if you think about it. I've seen people drop like $500 on a single weekend music festival ticket and then complain about the portapotty situation. The wifi going out at 2 PM every day sounds annoying sure, but maybe it was just that one spot. I went to a coworking place in Lisbon that was $150 a month and the AC would short out every time someone microwaved popcorn. You just roll with it, find a different table, or use your phone as a hotspot for an hour. People act like losing $600 is the end of the world but that's like two nice dinners out these days.

Wait, didn't that travel blogger totally call it right about the wifi being trash?

Read a travel blogger say the same thing about coworking spots in Mexico.
