Watched a guy set up his laptop on a Bali beach at 3 PM and his screen was completely useless in the sun
He kept squinting at a $50 portable monitor that couldn't beat direct tropical sunlight, and I wanted to tell him about the $150 matte screen I picked up after my first week in Ubud fried my eyes, has anyone else found a budget fix for outdoor glare that actually holds up?

My buddy Ryan bought one of those cheap folding monitors for his remote setup in Thailand and he just gave up after two days. He ended up taping a big sheet of sunshade fabric to a bamboo pole and propping it over his screen like a janky canopy. Actually worked better than any of those anti-glare stickers he tried from the local tech market in Chiang Mai. Watched him working under that thing for three weeks before he finally admitted it looked ridiculous but saved his eyes. He said the real trick was to just work in the shade before 10 AM or after 4 PM and use the middle of the day for meetings indoors...
