I switched from a free email service to Proton Mail after my friend's account got hacked last month.
Seeing how Proton's end-to-end encryption actually protected his new account from a similar attack, while the old provider's basic security didn't, made me realize free often means your data is the product they're selling. What other encrypted email services are people here actually trusting for daily use?

What about Tutanota? I've heard good things. Proton's been solid for me though, no complaints.

Tutanota's good, but @angelarivera, it's not just about encryption.

My cousin had her old Yahoo account broken into years ago and lost all her photos. She switched to something encrypted, but I can't remember which one. It's crazy how much we just trust these free services with everything. I should probably look into it more myself, but I get lazy about switching my email over.
