Rant: Hit 200 unused app permissions on my phone and freaked out
I was bored last Sunday and went through every app on my Android phone. Turns out I had 200 something permissions granted for things like my microphone, camera, and location. Apps like a simple flashlight had access to my contacts. It made me realize how much data we just hand over without thinking. Has anyone else done a deep dive on their own phone permissions?

Honestly, I read something about how those permissions make your phone way easier to hack.

3 recipe apps on my phone all want my camera roll for no reason.

Did you notice if any of those permissions were actually draining your battery faster? I remember going through my mom's phone last year and finding a recipe app that had access to her call history, which still makes no sense to me.

A recipe app that had her call history? That's a whole new level of disturbing right there. I get that some apps need location or camera to work, but your call log is nobody's business but yours. Makes you wonder what they're actually doing with that information. I'd be tempted to call that number and ask them directly.
