The sysadmin who told me to ditch LastPass back in 2018 saved my skin
My old boss at a Denver IT firm kept warning me that password managers with cloud sync were a ticking time bomb. I thought he was just paranoid, but he showed me the breach history on his own spreadsheet from 2016 to 2018. Sure enough, LastPass had 3 known leaks by then, and I had my whole life stored in there. I switched to Keepass local files in early 2019, right before that big LastPass breach in August 2022 exposed vaults. That one decision probably kept my personal logins from getting scraped. Has anyone else dodged a bullet by listening to that one paranoid coworker?

Did you ever run into any trouble syncing that Keepass file across your devices?

Doesn't @keith_bennett use a cloud sync too? Mine got corrupted twice, so I switched to a different setup.

Yeah you're totally right, I used to think cloud sync was fine but now I see the risk.
