Why does nobody talk about how hard it is to get a lawyer for a second appeal?
I got denied for my initial claim back in 2021, then got denied again on reconsideration in early 2022. After that I tried calling 8 different disability lawyers in my area of Phoenix and most said they wouldn't even take cases that had already been denied twice. Finally found one who agreed to help but only because I had new medical records from a surgery last August. Has anyone else hit this wall where lawyers won't touch you after a second denial?

Read something from a legal aid blog that said most disability lawyers won't touch cases past the first denial unless you got major new evidence. That surgery you mentioned probably saved you.

Man, I had a cousin whose case dragged on for years until a random MRI changed everything.

Wait, isn't that kind of the point though, @christopherw34? A good MRI can catch stuff that X-rays or basic exams totally miss, and that's the whole reason people fight through the denials.
