Appreciation post: my neighbor's one comment about my greasy dishes changed everything
She said my plates felt slick after washing, which I thought was normal until I switched to a different soap. Never realized how much residue I was leaving until I went back to the cheap stuff and felt the difference.

Oh wow, this is so relatable! I actually read an article a few months back about how some dish soaps leave a waxy coating from certain additives that you can only feel when you switch. It's crazy how we just get used to that slick feeling and think it's normal. Glad you caught it, because that residue can definitely trap bacteria.

Yes, the waxy coating thing is so real... I had the same shock when I switched soaps @amy_west, my dishes felt totally clean for once instead of that weird slippery film.

Heard a chemist talk about that once, said the waxy stuff is usually synthetic stearates...
