Broke a glass casserole dish in the sink last night and Dawn saved me from disaster

Was washing a greasy lasagna pan from Tuesday and a Pyrex lid slipped right out of my hand. Shattered everywhere, but one squirt of the blue stuff cut through the oil instantly so I could see all the tiny shards. Anyone else have a brand they trust when things get messy like that?

Bet your bottom dollar that's the only time you'll appreciate seeing through greasy water. I swear that blue stuff could cut through the grime on a tractor engine, let alone a lasagna pan. Guess we're all just one slippery Pyrex lid away from learning we're not as coordinated as we think. At least you got a clean sink out of the deal, right?

oh man that brings me back to a time I dropped a whole ceramic roasting pan in the sink and thought I was gonna have to replace the whole drain. but yeah dish soap is a lifesaver for spotting glass because it cuts through all the sticky food residue that hides the dangerous stuff. I literally just had to do the same thing last month with a broken salsa bowl and it took me like twenty minutes to find every last piece. dawn really is the MVP for kitchen disasters like that because it lets you see what you're dealing with instead of slicing your fingers open later.

A piece of white bread works too to pick up the really tiny slivers you can't see after you think you got everything. I've done that trick after sweeping a broken mason jar off my back porch, and it saved me from finding glass in my bare feet later. @umar49 is right about the dish soap though, that stuff makes the whole cleanup way less stressful. Just gotta be patient and check every spot twice, especially around the sink drain.
