Finally switched from Palmolive to Dawn after a grease disaster last night

I spent 45 minutes scrubbing a single baking sheet with Palmolive and it still felt greasy. Tried Dawn on a whim and had it clean in under 5 minutes. Anyone else have a brand loyalty that took one bad experience to break?

Funny enough I had the opposite thing happen with dish soap but it was laundry detergent. Used Tide for years without thinking about it until a buddy left his generic brand at my place. Figured whatever, soap is soap. My clothes came out so stiff I thought I'd washed them in starch. Went right back to Tide after that one load. Sometimes you don't realize how good something works until you try the cheap stuff and it falls apart.

Blair that's exactly what happened to me with dryer sheets too. Used Bounce forever then grabbed a store brand out of habit and my clothes had so much static I looked like I'd been wrestling a balloon.

Right?? People don't realize how much the FORMULA matters. Tide has those enzymes that break down stains and keep fabric soft, while cheap brands just skip all that science. I had a friend who tried saving money with a dollar store detergent and her towels came out so scratchy they felt like sandpaper. It's like how people swear by Dawn for dish soap because it actually cuts grease instead of just making bubbles. You pay for what you get with laundry stuff, for sure.
