Tried wet chain lube for the first time after years of dry lube, night and day difference on my gravel bike

I always used dry lube because it's less messy. But after a rainy ride last week my chain sounded like a dying cat. A buddy at the bike coop said try wet lube. Put some on Sunday and did a 20 mile gravel loop with puddles and mud. Chain was quiet the whole time. No rust either. Downside is it attracts dirt like crazy but idk, worth it for the quiet ride. Anyone else switch and never go back?

I read an article from a mechanic who said wet lube is basically a trade off between noise and cleaning effort. He recommended using a degreaser every few rides to cut down the grime buildup. That sold me on trying it myself and I haven't looked back since.

Ha, @calebc40 that degreaser tip is a lifesaver. Honestly my chain looks like it went through a war zone every time I ride, but the silence is worth it.

Haha yeah the dirt magnet thing is REAL. I swear my chain collects more gravel than the bike itself now. But honestly I'll take a grimy chain over that screeching noise any day, especially on a gravel ride where you're already kicking up half the trail.
