Debate: Is sharing homemade tattoo ink recipes too risky or part of the craft?
I was talking to my buddy Dave last night at his garage shop. He said mixing your own ink from printer toner and alcohol is fine if you know what you're doing. But I've seen a lot of folks end up with nasty infections from homemade stuff. My first stick-and-poke used India ink from an art store and it's held up great for 5 years. What's your take on where the line is for DIY ink safety?

Honestly I've seen this pattern play out so many times in different hobbies. My cousin Mike brewed his own beer for years and his first batch exploded because he used the wrong pressure valve. It's like people skip the basics thinking they know better but the real craft is understanding why the professional method works not just copying it. Tbh printer toner has heavy metals in it that can mess you up long term. Ngl if you're gonna do it at least stick with pigment that's actually meant for skin like India ink or high grade tattoo carbon.

Dave from down the street used windshield washer fluid once. Said his arm looked like a bruised banana for two weeks.
