My homemade scarification piece finally healed right after 4 rough months

I did a small geometric pattern on my forearm back in February with a buddy in his garage. We used a scalpel and some ink, nothing too crazy. But man, the healing was a nightmare for the first 6 weeks, it got crusty and infected looking around week 3. I almost gave up and covered it with a tattoo but I stuck with the dry healing method my friend recommended. Now the raised lines are super clean and even, I can finally run my fingers over it without any bumpy spots. It's cool to see the white scar tissue pop against my tan skin after this summer. Anyone else have a body mod that took forever to look good but was worth the wait?

Oh COME ON, you think a beer makes up for that kind of labor? I get the gesture but let's be real here. A buddy's time and skill is worth way more than a single cold one, especially when we're talking about doing the actual hard work of setting everything up. If anything, the guy should be buying dinner for the whole crew for putting up with his junk. Honestly, a beer is like saying "thanks for the free work" but it doesn't really cover the hassle. I'd say if the job was that bad, the buddy owes HIM a six pack at least.

Kind of wild nobody's mentioned how scar tissue changes over time though. Like, five years from now that thing might barely be visible compared to how it looks now, especially if you keep catching sun. Hope you're cool with it fading out eventually.
