That fake tattoo ink almost ruined my arm - here's what happened

I bought some "premium" black ink off Amazon for $12, thought I was saving money. After 3 days my homemade tattoo got super red and started oozing yellow stuff. Went to urgent care and the doc said it was infected from cheap metals in the ink. Stick with branded stuff from real tattoo shops even if it costs $25 a bottle, please don't learn the hard way like me. Has anyone else gotten burned by fake ink online?

Really feel for you here, that sounds awful and scary. @gavin469 is right - it's wild how we think we're being smart by saving money but end up paying way more in doctor bills and pain. I've had my own close calls with cheap electronics that got scary hot, so I get the whole trap.

Thing is this isn't just about tattoo ink. It's the whole "buy cheap on Amazon" trap people fall into with everything now. Got a buddy who bought those discount LED face masks for skincare. Ended up with burns because the lights weren't regulated. Same with those cheap knockoff chargers that catch fire. We've all been trained to think expensive = scam but sometimes the cheap stuff is actually dangerous.

My cousin got a cheap tattoo gun off Amazon and ended up with a staph infection that took months to clear.
