Tried a homemade stick n poke on my ankle back in 2010
I used a sewing needle and india ink like all the tutorials said, and the dot spread into this ugly blue blob after a week. Now 14 years later it's still there, faded but definitely not going anywhere. Any tips on covering up old DIY tattoos that went wrong?

lol @ "ugly blue blob" - that's basically what mine turned into too. Honestly, try a good coverup artist who specializes in reworking bad tattoos, they can turn that blob into something cool like a geometric shape or a dark flower. Just be ready to pay real money this time, the sewing needle era is over lmao.

I saw a documentary on prison tattooing last month and they showed how these homemade blue blobs eventually just turn into a solid mess under the skin... @owens.anthony is right about the sewing needle era being over, I had a buddy who tried the whole India ink thing in his garage and it looked like a bruised cloud after a year. Geometric coverups seem like the way to go though, I've seen some sick blackwork mandalas that totally hide old mistakes. Just make sure you actually go to a shop this time and not someone's kitchen table.
