Bought a used router off Facebook Marketplace, thought I got a steal until I found a hidden keylogger

Picked up a cheap TP-Link router from some guy in Brooklyn for $20 and it worked fine for a week. Then my bank alerted me about logins from a random IP in Russia, and after digging I found the firmware had been swapped with a malicious version. Who else has gotten burned buying secondhand networking gear like that?
