Diner WiFi in Tulsa had a fake login page

Stopped at a breakfast spot off Route 66 last month and the free WiFi asked me to "verify my identity" by entering my email and a password I used for banking. Has anyone else seen this in small town cafes?

lewis.mila I get why you'd say that but this is exactly how phishing works in real life. I used to work in IT for a few years and a legit public WiFi setup never asks for your banking password. That breakfast spot probably had someone spoofing their network with a fake portal. If I saw that I'd just pack up and use mobile data instead.

Yeah that's pretty much what happened to me once, just switched to my phone's hotspot and moved on.

Lol oh man, lewis.mila I get why you'd think that but I've gotta side with annajenkins on this one. I'm the guy who once clicked "Agree" on a fake airport wifi just to save 20 seconds and ended up with my Facebook account posting crypto spam for three days. My buddy still sends me screenshots of those posts, lmao. So yeah, better safe than sorry, even if it feels dramatic in the moment.
