My old router died mid-streaming last night and I had to dig out a 10 year old spare from a closet
Lost the whole 4th quarter of the game before I found the thing and it took 20 minutes to boot up, anyone else keep a junker around just in case your main hardware bricks?

Is a 20 minute boot time really better than just having no internet? I mean, by the time that thing finally wakes up, the game's probably over anyway, or at least you've missed so much that it hardly matters. Idk, I feel like if your spare is that old and slow, you're just trading one frustration for another, and you might be better off just biting the bullet and getting a cheap new router off the shelf. Plus, keeping old electronics around just clutters up your closet and maybe even attracts power surges or something, you know? Maybe it's just me but I'd rather have 10 minutes of no internet than fiddle with a dinosaur that might not even work right.

Was your old router a model you kept for emergencies, or just something you never got around to throwing away? I'm curious because I've got a couple of older routers sitting in storage and I'm trying to decide if they're worth keeping for the same reason. A 20 minute boot time sounds rough, but it probably beats having no internet at all in the middle of a game.

Oh man, I kept my old one for emergencies and it ended up taking so long to boot I just bought a new one mid-wait.
