That $40 password manager I bought after a data breach alert turned out to be free software with a premium sticker

I panicked and paid for a year of SecureVault Pro after getting a breach notification from Have I Been Pwned, only to find out Bitwarden does the exact same thing for zero dollars, so has anyone else gotten burned by buying the first tool you see when you're in panic mode?

Ngl I did the same thing with Dashlane after a breach scare. I switched to Bitwarden and it works just as well, so don't feel bad about learning the hard way like I did.

Did @kim.nina's switch to Bitwarden work out smooth for you long term?

You know what @calebc40, I did basically the same thing but with LastPass after that whole mess. My passwords were already in the fire before I even knew what was happening. Bitwarden's been solid for me too though, feels like the sensible choice after you've been burned once. How long did it take you to feel like you could trust a pw manager again after that?
