TIL a simple browser extension cut my phishing close calls by a ton

My coworker in IT saw me almost click a fake login page and told me to install uBlock Origin to filter out sketchy ads. Has anyone else found a lightweight add-on that blocks those scammy pop-ups on shopping sites?

I read that ad blockers also stop a lot of the tracking scripts that phishing sites use to target you. uBlock Origin is probably the best one out there for that sort of thing.

uBlock's probably less likely to sell my data than my own dumb self clicking on a fake "your computer has virus" ad.
