After insulating my attic, my AC barely runs in summer

My electricity bill dropped by 30% after sealing all the drafts.

Honestly, read reesel59's comment again. He was setting aside money each paycheck for heating costs, which is winter savings. Anna491 might have missed that part. It's like the OP sealing drafts to save on AC, both are planning ahead. Tbh, I did something similar by putting cash in an envelope for summer electric bills. It really helps when the big bill hits.

What about winter savings?

Last winter I set aside fifty bucks from each paycheck for heating costs. I used an automatic transfer so I never even saw the money. By December I had a nice little fund just for the gas bill.

That automatic transfer trick is exactly how I saved for my property taxes last year.
