Dropped $250 on a tile saw and it's collecting dust
I bought a wet tile saw for a bathroom floor project back in March, thinking I'd use it for all kinds of future work. Turns out, I barely touched it after that one job and now it's sitting in my garage taking up space. Should I just sell it or hold onto it for some random project down the road?

Ugh I've been there. My advice is sell it now while it's still in good shape and you can get a decent price for it. Those things don't really hold value and they'll just sit there rusting if you don't use them. I held onto mine for like two years thinking I'd do another project and ended up selling it for half what I paid. That money could've gone to something you'll actually use.

I gotta disagree with you there, Angela. Not everything needs to be about resale value or getting your money back. Sometimes you keep something because it reminds you of a time in your life or a project you enjoyed, even if you aren't using it right now. That two years you held onto yours, maybe you weren't ready to let go, and that's okay too. If it's not rusting or taking up space in a bad way, who cares if it sits for a while? What's the worst that could happen if you just hang onto it until you feel like using it again?

Yeah I get that. I've got a few tools in my garage that I was so sure I'd use again and now they're just sitting there making me feel guilty every time I walk past. Honestly, if you've got the space and it's not in the way, holding onto it isn't the worst thing in the world, is it?
