Painted my whole living room and hit exactly 3 gallons used
I just finished painting my 12x16 living room in Austin and the math worked out perfectly. Three gallons of Valspar paint covered two coats on the walls, the ceiling, and the trim with barely any left over. Has anyone else ever nailed a project like that where the supplies lined up almost too perfect?

Three gallons sounds like you planned that out real careful, I respect it. My last living room project took four gallons and I still had to run back to the store (hate that). Nailing the math on a paint job is a rare win.

Oh man, that is such a satisfying feeling. I saw somewhere online that the average gallon covers 350-400 square feet, so you must have measured everything out to the inch. I did a tiny bathroom once with a single quart of paint and it was a disaster (ended up like two inches short on the second coat, so aggravating). Your result is practically perfect. Good on you for making it work without any waste.

Used to think buying extra paint was just part of the deal, but seeing people nail the exact amount like this changed my mind completely. It's one of those things where a little planning upfront saves you a headache and a trip back to the hardware store. Three gallons for a 12x16 room with ceiling and trim included is almost too neat, makes me wonder if you measured twice or just got lucky. I bet you saved some cash too, which is always a bonus. Either way, that kind of precision is something to be proud of.
