Rolled my eyes at those 'luxury' vinyl planks for years... now I get it
I swore vinyl flooring was just cheap plastic that looked fake, but my buddy talked me into putting LifeProof in my basement after a minor flood last spring. After 8 months and two kids running around down there, it still looks brand new with zero scratches. Has anyone else had a DIY material they hated at first but ended up loving?

Idk man, I was the same way about stick-on backsplash tiles. Thought they were the tackiest thing ever, like something you'd see in a rental that's trying way too hard. But then my wife put the glass subway tile ones in our kitchen and honestly they've held up way better than I expected through all the cooking splatter and steam. Did you have to do anything special to prep the floor before you put the LifeProof down, or was it pretty straightforward?

Read some guy on Reddit said you need that primer stuff. Worked fine without it.

Man, I feel you, I was exactly the same way about laminate countertops until I tried the good stuff.
