Talked to my dad about caulking and he changed how I do my trim work

He said 'stop using cheap stuff from the big box store' and after trying GE silicone at $6 a tube my baseboards finally stopped cracking. Anyone else got a go-to caulk brand that actually holds up?

Honestly, GE silicone is all I use on my own trim now too.

Oh man, @john_fisher you're totally right! I switched to GE a couple years back after fighting with cheaper stuff on my bathroom trim and never looked back. Just gotta make sure you've got that caulk gun angle right so it doesn't turn into a mess.

Hey now, I gotta push back a little on this one. I've tried GE before and honestly it just seems TOO thick for my taste, hard to smooth out without making a mess on the trim. I actually switched over to DAP Dynaflex 230 a few years back and it's way easier to tool down with just a wet finger, plus it stays flexible without cracking. Different strokes for different folks I guess, but I'll take that over fighting with a stiff caulk any day.
