TIL I was cutting crown molding upside down for 2 years

I was at my buddy's workshop last Saturday helping him trim out his living room. He looked at my cut and said 'dude you're holding it backwards, the spring angle is off.' I had been flipping it the wrong way since I started doing baseboards and crown molding in my own house. The gaps at the corners always drove me crazy and I thought it was just my saw being misaligned. Has anyone else had a simple fix like this that made a huge difference in their finish work?

Depends on the saw and how you read the angles though.
