TIL my dad's trick of using a heat gun to remove old paint from trim actually works better than chemical stripper in my 1920s house.
I thought it was a messy shortcut, but after trying it on three doors, I got cleaner wood with less damage and saved about $80 on stripper cans, so what's the real best method for old trim?

My 1915 bungalow taught me the same thing, heat gun is the only way to go lol. It's way faster and you don't get that nasty chemical smell everywhere.

Totally agree, heat gun changed the game for me too. Stripped my old kitchen floors that way, saved so much time. Honestly can't imagine going back to the chemical stuff now.
