Spent $12 on a shower squeegee and it saved my bathroom walls

I was sick of seeing mold spots creep up the caulk in my shower after just a few months. My buddy told me to try a $12 squeegee from Target instead of spending $50 on a fancy scrub. I thought it was dumb but gave it a shot. Every morning after my shower I run the squeegee over the tiles and glass door. It takes maybe 30 seconds. Two months later and no new mold growth anywhere. The old spots even faded after I scrubbed them once. I'm honestly mad I didn't try this sooner. Has anyone else had luck with a cheap squeegee or is this just my weird obsession?

Honestly "a little grime too" @ben_lewis? That squeegee is just pushing wet dirt around, not cleaning anything. You're basically smearing the same mold spores you're trying to prevent right back onto the wall.

Wait, are you sure it's the squeegee doing the work and not just that you're drying the walls off after each shower? lol. Because the squeegee is just moving the water away, it's the fact that you're not letting moisture sit there that stops the mold. I mean, you could probably just wipe it down with a towel for the same effect, but hey if the squeegee makes you actually do it, that's $12 well spent. I used to get mold along the bottom of my shower curtain liner until I started pulling it closed tight after every use. Different thing, same idea. You're basically just denying mold the wet environment it needs to grow.

Huh, I actually think the squeegee scrubs off a little grime too, not just the water.
