Can we talk about the cost of poster board right now?

I went to the craft store last week to grab some foam board for a climate march sign and nearly fell over. A single 20x30 sheet was $8.49! I ended up cutting down an old moving box and using a piece of cardboard from my recycling bin instead. Has anyone else noticed supplies getting crazy expensive for sign making?

Right? "crept up like a slow leak"... more like a burst pipe at this point. I paid $5 for a single cardboard trifold presentation board last month and felt like I was getting a deal. Now I'm out here scrounging old Amazon boxes and praying they haven't been chewed on by my cat.

Started rummaging through my recycling bin too just last week for a project, it's getting ridiculous honestly... everything from eggs to lumber has crept up like a slow leak you barely notice until the total's staring you in the face. It's like the whole "just grab it at the store" habit costs twice what it did a couple years back... makes you think twice before tossing anything with a flat surface.

You seen the price of a sheet of plywood lately, @patricia262? My buddy tried to build a simple bookshelf and ended up paying more for the wood than the books inside it.
