Switched to camping foam boards after my third cardboard sign dissolved in the rain

I always used cardboard because it's free, but after a wet rally in Portland last month I was holding a soggy mess. Picked up a 20x30 foam board at Dollar Tree for $2 and it stayed crisp through an entire afternoon of drizzle. Anyone else deal with signs turning to mush?

Wait, you actually had a cardboard sign last three times before it dissolved? Mine turns into a wet napkin after 20 minutes of light mist. Some of us are just cursed with cheap cardboard I guess.

Oh man, try the corrugated plastic signs from sign shops. Those things laugh at rain.

Funny you mention Dollar Tree foam boards - my buddy Larry brought one to a protest in Seattle that turned into a kite. The wind caught it just right and it went flying into a tree. Took us ten minutes to poke it down with a selfie stick. Still held up better than the cardboard signs though. Mine was just a pile of wet pulp by noon.
