C-band vs Ku-band for home built dishes - which actually pulls in more channels?

I've been experimenting with two different LNB setups on my 8-foot mesh dish in the backyard. The C-band gives me solid signals from old satellite feeds but the Ku-band picks up way more free-to-air channels from modern birds. I'm leaning toward Ku now because I caught 12 channels last Saturday alone versus maybe 3 on C. Has anyone else noticed one band outperforming the other for your setup?

Wait, you caught 12 channels in one Saturday on Ku? That's wild because I barely get half that on my setup with the same band. Makes me wonder if my dish alignment is off or if your LNB is just way better than mine. Maybe C-band is dead for most stuff unless you're chasing old feeds nobody cares about anymore.

Swap out your LNB for a better model, I did that and went from 4 channels to over 15 on Ku band. Also mess with your skew angle a bit, that little tweak can make a huge difference in what you pull in on a Saturday.
