Back in 2012 I had to pick between a Wi-Fi camera and a wired setup for watching my driveway

My neighbor kept having packages stolen so I wanted to set up a cheap camera. The Wi-Fi one was $40 and easy to mount but the signal dropped every time it rained hard. I went with a wired kit for $60, ran the cable under the siding, and it's still running fine today. Took me an afternoon to route the wire but I haven't had to touch it since. Anyone else deal with signal issues on those cheap Wi-Fi cams?

Ever notice how convenience always seems to come with hidden trade-offs? It's like wireless promises freedom but wires give you actual peace of mind.

Yeah my buddy spent $200 on a wireless doorbell cam and the battery died after two weeks in the winter. It was dead frozen solid until April. Meanwhile I have a $40 wired one from 2018 that still works like day one. I swear people act like drilling one hole for a cable is harder than changing batteries every month and hoping your signal doesn't get killed by a passing cloud.

Oh yeah, I had the same problem with a cheap Wi-Fi cam... every time the sprinklers ran it'd cut out. I swapped to a wired one too and it's been solid for years now, no fuss.
