Hit 500 hours on my homemade night vision rig last night

That little modified webcam and IR LED setup I built for under $60 finally logged its 500th hour of operation, which surprised me because I figured the wiring would fail way before that chip did. Has anyone else kept a log on their gear's runtime?

I logged my kids' tablet battery cycles once and that thing surprised me too.

Honestly I used to think keeping track of hours was kinda pointless, but seeing stuff like this makes me rethink it. I mean 500 hours on a homemade rig with janky wiring is pretty wild, kinda cool to have proof it held up that long.

Oh man, did you ever check what the actual weak point was after all those hours? Like which part finally gave out or did it just keep running?
