Swapped my phone camera for a Game Boy SP camera module and it's actually useful

I used to rely on my phone for hidden cam setups in my apartment, but the battery died too fast and it was obvious. Last week I repurposed an old Game Boy SP camera module with a tiny power bank and it runs for 12 hours straight. Anyone tried using old game console cameras for surveillance work?

Nice, I rigged a PSP camera with a motion sensor and it works great.

Wait, you actually got the motion trigger working with that old PSP camera? I'm honestly kind of blown away because I tried something similar a while back with a different setup and I could never get the timing right. The latency on those old Sony modules is pretty rough from what I remember, so the fact that you got it to register motion without lag is wild. Maybe it's just me being too picky, but I gave up after a week of tinkering. How did you manage to sync the sensor with the camera's shutter? Did you have to solder something custom or did you find a breakout board that actually works?

Yeah but how's the resolution on that PSP camera compared to the Game Boy one? I've been looking at old Sony stuff but the specs are always fuzzy.
