Wasted $150 on a hidden camera that was just a cheap spy cam with bad night vision

I bought this little camera off a random site last month thinking it would be perfect for watching my front porch. It looked exactly like a USB charger and the listing promised clear 1080p video in the dark. First night I tested it, the night vision was so grainy I couldnt even tell if a person was standing there or a tree branch. The footage looked like something from a 90s camcorder in a basement. Checked the reviews after I already paid and saw like 20 people saying the same thing. Has anyone else gotten burned by those fake looking hidden cams that claim great quality?

Oh man, that's rough. I bought one of those "USB charger" cameras off a weird ad once and the "night vision" was basically a faint green glow that made everything look like it was filmed through a dirty jar of pickles. The footage was so blurry I couldn't even tell if the blur in the corner was my neighbor's cat or a bag of leaves blowing around. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but at that point you're basically paying for a tiny plastic brick with a lens.

My $40 Wyze cam sees better in the dark than that thing probably does so it sounds like you just bought from a sketchy site instead of a known brand. That listing probably had all red flags with "hidden" features being the main selling point instead of actual specs.
