My son's constant questions about my CAD projects are splitting opinions in our family
He sits with me every evening asking how to make shapes on the screen. I see it as a chance to teach him something useful and spend time together. My sister says I'm mixing job stress with family life and it will burn me out. Others in my circle think it's smart to get kids interested early. Where do you all stand on this?

Wait what? Your sister thinks CAD time is job stress spilling over? Seriously? That's like saying reading bedtime stories is teacher burnout. CAD is basically fancy drawing, it's creative stuff. My kid's bedtime fights cause way more stress than showing him how to make a 3D block. How is sharing a fun skill a big deal?

Lol my friend's kid got super into making 3D models for his minecraft builds last year. His dad showed him the basics in a free CAD program one Saturday. They spent the whole weekend making these wild toy spaceship designs together, printing them out, it was a total blast. The dad said it was way less stressful than helping with common core math homework. So yeah, calling that job stress is kinda missing the point, it's just fun dad time.

Totally get what maxf33 is saying. My nephew and I do the same thing with Tinkercad for his Roblox ideas. It's just hanging out, not some extra work thing. Helping with his fraction homework is the real nightmare.
